SALISBURY, NC - The Fayetteville State's Golf team finished second in Catawba College's Richard & Patsy Rendleman Golf Invitational held at the Country Club of Salisbury. Freshman
Logan Atkins brought home the Low Medalist Award and All-Tournament Team honors as he led all golfers with a scorecard of six-under par, 207. The Broncos maintained the leaderboard through the first two rounds after scores of 292 and 288, but a final round of 305 gave Catawba (875; 299, 286, and 290) the victory. FSU (886 final score) finished above Erskin (893), Emory and Henry (902), Virginia at Wise (906) and Catawba's B-Team (951).
Atkins, a business major from Dunn, NC, scored 14 birdies over the three rounds with one eagle on the No. 3 534-yard par 5 hole. He was two-under (69) after 18 holes and finished the day five-under after a 68 (-3) second round. His final card was a one-under, 70.

The Golf team will travel to Richmond Virginia on October 23-24 to compete in the River City Collegiate Classic being hosted by Virginia Union University.
