Fayetteville State Finishes Runner-Up at CIAA Men's Golf Championship

LELAND, N.C. – Fayetteville State University secured a strong second-place finish at the 2025 CIAA Men's Golf Championship, held at Magnolia Green Golf Club on April 14-15. The Broncos ended the tournament with a total score of 910 (+46), just five strokes behind the champions, Bluefield State. The Broncos were recently ranked 11th in the April 11 release of the NCAA DII Atlantic Regional Rankings.

Sutton DreierFayetteville State's performance was highlighted by standout individual efforts. Sutton Dreier led the team, finishing second overall and being named to the All-Tournament Team with a score of 217 (+1). Dreier's consistent rounds of 70, 76, and 71 were crucial in keeping the Broncos in contention throughout the tournament. His final round of 71 included birdies on holes 1, 3, and 8.
 
Allan Terrazas also delivered a strong performance, tying for fourth place with a score of 226 (+10). His rounds of 74, 75, and 77 earned him a spot on the All-Tournament Team. His final round included birdies on holes 1, 13, and 16. Additionally, Jack McCarthy tied for 20th with a score of 239 (+23), contributing to the team's overall success.
 
Juan Lopez's rounds of 74, 79, and 79 highlighted his perseverance, with birdies on holes 4 and 8 in the final round. He finished with a total score of 241 (+25).
 
Allan TerrazasHead Coach Zane Lewis praised the team's effort, stating, "Our players showed great determination and teamwork. We are proud of their performance. We are disappointed with missing the title spot for a second year, but we look forward to building on this success in future championships."
 
Fayetteville State University will await the final NCAA rankings for a spot in the Regional Tournament.
