Charlotte, NC -- Fayetteville State men's basketball standout
Darryl Myers was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Food Lion Men's Defensive Player of the Week for its weekly honors #9.
In two games last week,
Darryl Myers totaled 20 rebounds, 16 points, two steals, and a block. In the 65-64 win over Lincoln (PA), the senior recorded season-high tallies of 14 points and 14 rebounds while scoring the game-winning basket with four seconds remaining for the Broncos. Myers also pulled down nine offensive rebounds to lead the Fayetteville State offense which grabbed 21 boards and turned them into 22 second chance points.
Fayetteville State will play host to Johnson C. Smith on Saturday, January 14 at noon in Capel Arena. The first CIAA Southern Division matchup of the season will be broadcast by the Black College Sports Broadcasting Network as the first of four televised games.
