GAME 2 | UNC Pembroke 7, Fayetteville State 2
PEMBROKE, N.C. --Â Grace Vincent went 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI for the Fayetteville State Broncos in a 7-2 loss to the University of North Carolina Pembroke Braves on Thursday.
BreAnna Steele started and took the loss in the circle for Fayetteville State (1-3).
Offensively, the Broncos were paced by Vincent, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a home run and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Broncos got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Laniyah Bethea came across to score the lone run of the inning for Fayetteville State and get them on the board.
The Broncos then held the Braves scoreless before expanding their lead in the fourth inning. Fayetteville State picked up a run on Vincent's one-out solo home run off of M. Dyson, which brought the Broncos lead to 2-0. The Broncos were unable to hold the lead, as North Carolina-Pembroke scored seven times over the remaining three innings to grab the 7-2 win.
