Charlotte, NC – Fayetteville State's men's basketball standout guard
Tyler Foster was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Week #6 Food Lion's Men's Player of the Week.
Foster averaged 21.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two conference games last week for the Broncos. The junior also shot 58 percent from the field (15-of-26) and 63 percent in threes on eight attempts. The Baltimore, MD native scored a game-high and season-high 28 points off the bench against Shaw to give FSU a 71-66 win to open conference play. Against the Bears, the guard shot 9-of-15 from the field and made four of five three-pointers, along with six rebounds and two steals. In a loss to Virginia State, Foster scored a team-high 15 points (6-of-11 from the field), plus five boards.
For the season, Foster averages 12.2 points per game with double-digit scoring in 8 of his 13 games played. Over the past three games, he has scored 15 or more points.
Fayetteville State hosts Elizabeth City State tonight at 7:30 pm in Capel Arena before the Holiday break. Admission to tonight's conference double-header is free. The women tip at 5:30 pm.
