Salisbury, NC – The Fayetteville State golf team returns to campus as runners-up at the 2022 Richard Rendleman Invitational in Salisbury, NC. Host Catawba College won the event held at the Country Club of Salisbury with a team total of 593 strokes. The Broncos finished +30 over par (598) for second place; just one stroke ahead of Belmont Abbey College (599, +31).
 
Jack McCarthy finished both rounds of the Par 71 course with a three-over-par for a third-place tie with a 148 (+6) scorecard. Juan Lopex and Brandon Jones joined McCarthy on the All-Tournament Team with identical 149 (+7) cards. The pair shot a 75 (+4) and a 74 (+3). Caden Hodges and Spencer Barbour finished tied at 21 with five others. Hodges shot a 78 (+7) and 77 (+6) while Barbour had cards of 75 (+4) and 80 (+9).
 
Fayetteville State will compete in the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational on October 24-25 to complete its fall schedule.
