FAYETTEVILLE, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team took down the Saint Augustine's University Falcons in five sets (25-13, 25-20, 22-25, 23-25, 15-7) on Monday in their fourth home match of the season at Felton J Capel Arena.
The win moved the Broncos' record to 11-9 overall, 10-2 in CIAA action, and 4-0 in five-set matches during conference play. St. Augustine's fell to 5-7 in CIAA play with the loss.
The Broncos offense was paced by Casandra Watson, who finished with 16 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .333. Bailey Robinson added 13 and Kailyn Williams chipped in with 12 as part of a Fayetteville State attack that had four players with double-digit kills. Kyra Webb set a new season-high mark with 34 assists as well. Defensively, FSU had three players reach double figures in digs, including Alexia Bryant's 20, 14 from Kyra Webb, and 10 more from Jordan Johnson.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Broncos won the first point and never trailed to win the first set 25-13. Fayetteville State opened up its biggest lead, 12 points, to finish off the set, collecting 16 kills while only committing two attack errors along the way. Fayetteville State also supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Fayetteville State continued to roll after a set-one win by earning a 25-20 victory in set two. The Broncos took the set with the help of a solid showing on the attacking end. Fayetteville State put together a .317 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set win. The Broncos ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.
SET 3 | Saint Augustine's avoided a sweep with a third-set win to make it a 2-1 match. The Broncos came up short by the score of 25-22. Saint Augustine's grabbed the advantage for good at 22-21 in a set that was tied up seven times before the Falcons took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 4 | Fayetteville State then dropped their second straight set 25-23 to brind the match level at two sets apiece. Saint Augustine's grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17 and Fayetteville State wasn't able to recover in a set that was knotted up five times before the Falcons took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 5 | Fayetteville State needed a fifth set to seal the match win. After they grabbed a two sets to none lead, Saint Augustine's responded to take the third and fourth sets before the Broncos finished off their victory with a 15-7 fifth-set win. The Broncos led from the first point on in set five to secure the victory. Fayetteville State ended on a high note, opening its biggest lead of the stanza, eight points, to close out the set, totaling nine kills in the process.
