RALEIGH - Shaw scored five second-inning runs en route to a 7-4 win over Fayetteville State in the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday. The Broncos committed five errors in the game.

FSU finishes the regular season 15-18 overall and 8-7 in the CIAA.

Sophomore pitcher Misty Huber (Orlando, FL) picked up the loss for FSU, despite allowing only six hits and striking out 10 Bears' batters.

FSU scored three runs in the sixth inning, two of which came on a RBI-double by senior Shahiree Covington (Scotland County, NC). Covington scored two batters later after a wild pitch by SU.

April Branch (Pender, NC) had a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to give FSU its other run.

Right fielder LaTonia Gatling (Suffolk, VA) had three of FSU's six hits. Covington and freshmen Ashley Wlezen (Charlotte, NC) and Rita Diaz (Fayetteville, NC) had the other three.

FSU is off until it begins play in the CIAA Tournament in Petersburg, VA on April 15.
