Fayetteville, NC -Fayetteville State defended its home field (L.R. Saunders Field in Seabrook Park) with double wins over Saint Augustine's College, 13-0 and 10-1. Junior pitcher Tracy Brighter (Spring Lake, NC) struck out 11 of 14 batters in the first game. The Lady Broncos collected eight hits and eight runs in the bottom fourth inning to provoke the mercy rule. FSU once again circled the diamond in the fourth inning of the second game to end it early with ten runs off of six hits. Freshman pitcher Kristen Britt gave up two hits on 20 batters faced. Dominique Mills and April Branch hit homeruns in the first game.

The first batter of the day (Diamond Andrews) grounded out to Bobbi Boucher while the next eight batters struck-out to Tracy Brighter. Seven of the SAC batters struck-out looking. Two grounded out in the infield while one flew out to an outfielder.

Fayetteville State put its first point on the board in the first inning with three hits. The Lady Broncos added four more points in the second inning. Three Lady Falcon errors and one hit helped the cause. The climax and ending of the game happen in the fourth inning. Dominique Mills (Williamston, NC) was the first to reach base in the inning and the first to cross home plate on a passed ball (the catcher allowed the pitch to get by her). Rakhee Smith hit a double to bring in two runners. Next at bat, Bobbi Boucher (Hope Mills, NC - South View High School) also doubled for a RBI. Later down the line-up, Briana Montgomery hit the third double of the inning for a RBI. With a second at-bat of the inning, Mills nailed a homer over the fence for two RBIs. The Lady Broncos had eight runs from eight hits and one error. Two runners were left on base.
