Fayetteville, NC - The Lady Broncos defeated Bluefield State 8-0 and 11-5 in double-header softball action. Fayetteville State, 2-6 overall, hosted the Big Blues in Seabrook Park on the Leonard R. Saunders field in soggy conditions. In the first game, Fayetteville State racked up 12 hits in 29 at bats and limited it errors to two. Alicia Frank (Sophia, NC - 1-1 overall) pitched to 21 batters in the first game and allowed only one hit. April Branch (Pender, NC) recorded two RBIs from three hits.
Fayetteville State dominated the first game against the Big Blues. Frank allowed one hit in the fourth inning but struck three batters while walking one. She batted four hits with two runners scoring. Frank and Kimera Seward-Coburn (Champaign, IL) hit doubles while Branch hit two doubles. As the first baseman, Branch had six putouts with the help of Smith who had three assists.
