Final Stats

Fayetteville, NC - Fayetteville State opened the 2009 season by hosting incoming CIAA opponent Chowan University on Leonard R Saunders Field in Seabrook Park. The Hawks displayed its experience on the field by running away with the first game of the double-header 9-1.

Chowan dominated the first game with 11 hits and nine runs. Shellie Wimpey (2-1 overall) faced 23 batters and threw six strikeouts. The Lady Broncos committed two errors and could only manage five hits and one run. The run was in the bottom of the sixth inning.
