Virginia State University's Judy Hatch scored three runs as the Lady Trojans of Virginia State University posted an 11-1 win over FSU in the first game of the doubleheader played at Saunders Athletic Field. The Lady Trojans, undefeated in CIAA action, scored runs in the first, second, fourth and sixth innings to improve their season to 10-8 and 8-0 in CIAA action. The Lady Broncos' score came in the fourth inning when LaToya Brown scored on Erica Jester's sacrifice hit.

VSU's pitcher Kristie Holbert helped her own cause when she drove in three runs on a double to centerfield in the third inning as FSU fell 11-2 in the second game of the doubleheader. Aja Sawyer was the only Lady Bronco to cross home plate. She scored the first time in the third inning on a wild pitch by VSU's pitcher. Her second score came in the fifth inning when Dominique Mills' sacrifice hit to center brought her home.

The loss extended FSU losing streak to 17 games starting with a 2006 season loss to Saint Augustine's College. The Lady Broncos are 0-4 in CIAA action.
