Kenneth Lassiter

Kenneth Lassiter - a native of Asheboro, NC - was named Director of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer at Fayetteville State University in 2019. He oversees the Health and Rehabilitation for all 11 varsity sports programs. He primarily works with the men's basketball program and assists with the football program. 

Lassiter has served two seasons as a graduate athletic trainer at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. During his time at NSU, he worked primarily with the men's basketball program while assisting with the football team.

He began serving in athletic training on the collegiate level as a student trainer at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He worked with the Braves' baseball, men's soccer, and women's soccer programs.

Lassiter also has experience working at Red Springs High School (Fall 2012) and Lumberton High School (Fall 2011). He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from UNC Pembroke in 2014 and later earned his Master's degree in Kinesiology from Northeastern State in 2016.

In Fall 2016, Lassiter joined the FSU Athletics family as the assistant athletic trainer. He primarily focused on working with the football and softball programs. 

In 2017, Lassiter worked at Virginia Commonwealth University Sports Medicine. He served as the outreach Athletic Trainer at Virginia State University. Lassiter provided coverage to all 17 sports, primarily for the volleyball and women’s basketball programs.

He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers' Association, and the North Carolina Athletic Trainers' Association. He also has the following certifications: BOC, American Red Cross Professional Rescuer, Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure, North Carolina Board of Medical Licensure, Graston Technique MI, and Kinesio Tape.
