Jacob Vidal Jones joined the football staff at Fayetteville State University in 2021 as the assistant defensive line coach.
In 2019, Jones graduated from the University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in English. Before graduating, he did a year-long internship with the NCAA Compliance Office at UL.
Jones started his coaching career at the University of Louisiana as a student assistant in 2018. Jones assisted the Outside Linebackers Coach and Special Teams Coordinator, whom he helped produce two First-Team All-Sun Belt Conference returners. With his assistance, Jones helped put together four NFL players in the same special teams unit.
Jones played defensive back for the Ragin' Cajuns from 2015-2018. During his last year of football, he switched to outside linebacker.
He was also a three-sport varsity athlete at Long Beach Senior High. Jones played football as a defensive back, basketball as a forward, and competed in the triple jump, 200, 400, 4x2, and 4x4 events in track.
