Eric Morris joined the Fayetteville State University (FSU) football staff in March 2024 bringing a background in developing and motivating individuals to reach their full potential. He has a proven track record of providing performance-focused coaching and mentoring to improve skills, confidence, and motivation. He is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for personal growth and development.
Morris' professional journey includes various coaching and coordinating roles in college and professional football programs, focusing on defensive line coaching, recruiting coordination, and mentoring. Before joining FSU, he shared his knowledge at Barton College for almost five years. Preceding his tenure at Barton, Morris held the defensive coordinator role at Bethany College (2 years), Arkansas Baptist College ( 4 years), and Lon Morris Junior College (4 years).
He has also received several awards and accolades throughout his career, including being a two-time All-ASC Conference Defensive Line player and earning All-South Region Defensive Line honors. He was also a two-time All-American during his years at Mississippi College in 2005 and 2006.
Morris' passion for coaching and mentoring stems from his educational background, which includes a Master of Science (M.S.) in Health and Human Performance from Sul Ross State University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Sociology and Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Kinesiology from Mississippi College.Â
