Trotter, Cannedy, and Aquino Receive Week 14 Honors

CHARLOTTE, NC -- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) has announced the week 14 honors. Fayetteville State's Talia Trotter was named Women's Player of the Week, Ezekiel Cannedy and Romeo Aquino were named Men's Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
 
Talia Trotter - Women's Player of the Week

Talia Trotter, a senior public health major from Ellicott City, MD, delivered an impressive and efficient week, totaling 44 points, 15 rebounds (11 defensive), 12 assists, and 7 steals across three games while shooting 48.1% from the field and 66.7% from three. Trotter showcased her all‑around versatility—scoring at all three levels, rebounding out of the backcourt, facilitating the offense, and applying defensive pressure. Her consistency, playmaking, and ability to impact every statistical category made her one of the CIAA's most complete and valuable performers of the week.

His ability to score at all three levels, generate timely offense, and maintain efficiency made him one of the CIAA's top performers of the week.

Aquino anchored the Broncos' interior defense with physical post play, rim protection, and disciplined rotations, highlighted by a season‑high 4 blocks in the win over Johnson C. Smith. His consistency across all three match-ups helped FSU control the glass, limit second‑chance points, and apply sustained defensive pressure in key CIAA contests.
