Charlotte, NC - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) named Fayetteville State football standout, Tajon Roach as the week #0 CIAA Football Defensive Lineman Player of the Week.

Roach, a senior sports fitness and management major from Sumter, SC, delivered a dominant performance that anchored the Broncos' defense over the weekend.

In Fayetteville State's season opener against Benedict College, defensive lineman Tajon Roach recorded a game-high 11 total tackles, including 7 solo stops and 2.0 tackles for loss, consistently disrupting Benedict's offensive rhythm. His relentless pursuit and physical presence at the line of scrimmage helped limit the Tigers to just 3.8 yards per carry.

The football team will head to Pembroke, NC to face the Braves in their first home game of the 2025 season on Saturday for Military Appreciation Night and the Two Rivers Classic presented by Farm Bureau. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Grace P. Johnson Stadium.
