Charlotte, NC - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) named Fayetteville State cross country runners, Brian Kiprop and Faith Kiplimo, as the week #5 CIAA Men and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week.

Brian Kiprop, a sophomore nursing major from Eldoret, Kenya, delivered a championship-caliber performance at the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge, part of the Great American XC Festival held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC. Facing a competitive field that included Division I and Division II HBCU programs, Kiprop surged to the front of the men's 8K race, finishing 1st overall with a blazing time of 24:31.40. His dominant run not only earned individual honors but also led Fayetteville State University to a 1st place team victory.

Faith Kiplimo, a freshman nursing major from Eldoret, Kenya, delivered a strong and determined performance in the Women's 5000 Meter Run Finals at the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge. Competing against a talented field of Division I and Division II HBCU athletes, Kiplimo secured an impressive 2nd place finish with a time of 18:27.20. Her effort was a key contributor to Fayetteville State University's women's team placing 3rd overall.

The Broncos will compete on Friday, October 10, in Charlotte, NC, for the Queens Ryals Cross Country Challenge. The race is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
