Fayetteville State University Athletics

Brian Kiprop is a sophomore distance runner for the Fayetteville State University cross country team, bringing endurance, discipline, and international experience to the Broncos. Originally from Eldoret, Kenya—a region known for producing elite runners—Kiprop competed in handball during high school before shifting his focus to cross country.

He transferred to FSU from Crowder College, where he earned multiple All-American honors at the NJCAA level and made a name for himself at the NJCAA Cross Country Championship—his most memorable athletic experience to date.

Kiprop is pursuing a degree in Nursing and plans to specialize in his field after graduation. He credits his parents, Susan Kiplimo and Mathew Lagat, as the most influential figures in his life for their unwavering support and mentorship. He chose Fayetteville State for its strong academic program and the scholarship opportunity that allowed him to pursue both his athletic and professional goals.
