CHARLOTTE, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team secured a commanding victory over the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls, winning in straight sets (25-20, 25-23, 25-15) on Wednesday at Brayboy Gymnasium. This win improved the Broncos' record to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in CIAA play and dropped the Golden Bulls to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Chiara Vittoni was a standout performer for the Broncos, leading the attack with nine kills and a hitting percentage of .318. She also contributed significantly with five aces and ten assists. On the defensive side, Aliyah Brown led the team with eight digs, ensuring the Broncos maintained control throughout the match.

In the first set, Fayetteville State took an early lead at 4-3 and never looked back, eventually winning 25-20. The Broncos' offense was bolstered by five aces, which helped them maintain their advantage. The second set was more competitive, but Fayetteville State managed to edge out Johnson C. Smith 25-23, taking the lead for good at 10-9. The Broncos' serving continued to be a strong point, with four aces in this set as well.
