Vittoni, Morris and Page each put up double-doubles in Broncos 3-1 win over Virginia State

PETERSBURG, VA --Chiara Vittoni, Symone Morris, and Jourdan Page led the charge with double-doubles as Fayetteville State defeated Virginia State 3-1. With this win, the Broncos now have an impressive record of 12-3 overall and 8-3 in CIAA play. Notably, Page recorded 20 kills and 12 digs, Vittoni had 11 kills and 14 digs, and Morris contributed 13 kills and 18 digs. Jasmine Culp added 17 digs and Morris blocked three shots, with Vittoni rejecting two. The Trojans' record is now 7-7 overall and 5-3 in the conference. 

Fayetteville State showcased an impressive performance with key players leading the way in a 3-1 victory over Virginia State. Chiara Vittoni achieved a remarkable triple-double with 11 kills, 14 digs, and 22 assists, along with a match-high four aces. Symone Morris, who had 13 kills and 18 digs, added a match-high 18 digs, while Jourdan Page led with 20 kills. The team recorded significant numbers, with three players in double figures for kills and four players in double figures for digs. Fayetteville State never trailed in the first set and served six aces in the fourth set, securing a decisive win and improving their record to 12-3 overall and 8-3 in CIAA play.

Fayetteville State secured a 3-1 victory against Virginia State, with key performances across all sets. In the first set, the Broncos took an early lead and maintained it, winning 25-17, highlighted by strong defensive plays with five blocks. The second set saw Fayetteville State continue their dominance, winning again 25-17 with a .382 attack percentage and three aces. Virginia State made a comeback in the third set, claiming it 25-21 as the Broncos struggled to regain the lead. However, Fayetteville State responded with a decisive 25-14 win in the fourth set, powered by six aces. 

The Broncos will take on Bluefield State next at the CIAA Round-up. The match will begin at 6:00 PM.
