Winston-Salem, NC – Fayetteville State's women's indoor track & field standouts Jessica McQueen and Tiara Wilson surpassed NCAA DII Nationals' provisional qualifying marks at the JDL Fast Track Camel City Invitational.
McQueen won the Seeded 400 meter with a qualifying time of 57.53 seconds. Her performance (converted to 56.58 for banked tracks), is the fastest time in the Atlantic Region and 39th overall in Division II. Jessica also participated in the 200 meters where she finished 4th with a time of 25.86.
Wilson hit the triple jump board with a distance of 11.72m (38' 5.5") which ranks her 3rd in the Atlantic Region and 39th in the nation.
Janya Moore won the 200-meter dash in 25.29 seconds and her banked converted time of 24.91 ranks her fourth in the Atlantic Region and fifth in the 400 meters with a converted time of 57.24.
The distance medley relay of Repline Cheptoo, Ashley Bell, Viola Korir, and Nia Gibson turned in the fourth Atlantic Region time of 12:41.94.
M'Smrya Seward was just shy of hitting an NCAA qualifying mark in the long jump when she jumped the region's second-best performance of 5.56m (18' 3").
Queen Burnett finished second in the second section of the seeded 200 meters with a clock of 25.80.
Fayetteville State will tune up for the CIAA Indoor Championships at the University of South Carolina on Friday.
