Grier Named HBCU National Player of the Week by BOXTOROW

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Fayetteville State linebacker Brian Grier has been named HBCU National Player of the Week by BOXTOROW.

Grier, a redshirt-junior from Charlotte, N.C., recorded 10 tackles (6 solo), a tackle for loss, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in the Broncos' 10-7 victory over Virginia Union. As the Panthers were driving to take the lead early in the fourth quarter, Grier forced and recovered a fumble deep in Broncos territory. He then had two big tackles on second and third down to force a Panthers punt. The Broncos kicked a 27-yard field goal with :06 remaining to win the game.   Grier will be highlighted on the nationally syndicated sports talk show BOXTOROW with Donal Ware which airs on radio stations across the country.
