Clemson, SC – The Fayetteville State track & field program opened the 2023-24 indoor season at the Clemson Opener on Friday, December 8. Eighteen student-athletes participated in the event with the following highlights from the meet.
Tramoni Myles ran 7.97 seconds in the 60 meters.
Jessica McQueen led the Broncos in the 300 meters with a time of 40.49 seconds.
Holley Johnson and
Anaya Holloman finished about a second apart from each other in the 400 meters. Johnson finished in 1:03.42. Holloman ran 1:04.66 and competed in the long jump with a leap of 4.90 meters (16; 1"). They both were legs of the 4x4.
Aaliyah Saunders ran the mile in 6:10.12.
Irene Jeptoo broke the 11-minute mark in the 3K with a time of 10:51.73.
Da'Sia Smith threw the shot put 10.80 meters (35' 5.25").
The 4x400 squad of McQueen, Holloman, Myles, and Johnson clocked a time of 4:10.58 and the Distance Medley Relay (DMR) ran 12:56.77 with
Repline Cheptoo,
Viola Korir,
Joan Kiplagat, and Jeptoo.
The Broncos will return to the oval following the holiday break on Saturday, January 13 at the JDL Mondo College Invitational in Winston-Salem, NC.
