FAYETTEVILLE, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team displayed notable resilience with a 3-2 win against the Saint Augustine's Falcons Monday at home at Felton J Capel Arena.
The win improved the Broncos' record to 17-12 overall and 14-3 in CIAA play.
The Broncos were led by a double-double from Casandra Watson, who registered 12 kills and 23 digs on the day. Chiara Vittoni also added 15 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Jordan Johnson chipped in for with 19 digs to go with four blocks from Sonjai Guiles.

SET 1 | The Broncos took control on the first point and never trailed to secure the first set 25-15. Fayetteville State opened up its biggest lead, 10 points, to finish off the set, collecting 16 kills along the way.
SET 2 | Fayetteville State fell in the second set 27-25 to even the match 1-1. The Broncos fell in a tight second set, losing in a stanza that was tied nine times and had three lead changes.
SET 3 | A third-set loss put Fayetteville State behind 2-1. The Broncos fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before losing the set 25-18.
SET 4 | Fayetteville State broke their two set losing streak and forced a fifth set with a 25-18 victory in set number four. The Broncos scored first and never trailed in the set to secure the victory. Fayetteville State finished up the stanza on a strong note, claiming its biggest lead, seven points, to finish off the set. Fayetteville State also supplemented their offense with four aces in the set.
SET 5 | Fayetteville State clawed back from down 2-1 to take two straight sets, culminating in a 17-15 fifth-set victory, and grab the 3-2 win. The Broncos came out on top of a close fifth-set battle, winning a stanza that was tied two times and had two lead changes.
