WINSTON-SALEM, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team cruised to a three-set sweep (25-20, 25-20, 25-23) over the Winston-Salem Rams Thursday on the road at Whitaker Gymnasium.
The victory boosted the Broncos' record to 18-12 overall and 15-3 in CIAA play.
Chiara Vittoni finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Broncos' attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .476. Defensively, the Broncos had two players reach double figures in digs as Jordan Johnson had 10 and Casandra Watson had 10.

SET 1 | The Broncos won the first point and never trailed to secure the first set 25-20. Fayetteville State led by as many as eight points at 10-2 before finishing off the set.
SET 2 | Fayetteville State won set two 25-20 to swiftly grab a 2-0 lead. The Broncos took control of the set lead early on at 6-5 and held the lead the rest of the way. Fayetteville State led by as many as six points at 21-15 before closing out the set, totaling 17 kills.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State then ended the match with a victory in set number three. The Broncos took control of the set early when the score was 4-3 and never looked back to win 25-23. Fayetteville State led by as many as six points at 18-12 before finishing off the stanza. The Fayetteville State offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza. Fayetteville State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Winston-Salem attacks in the stanza.
The team will compete in the CIAAÂ Volleyball Quarterfinals on Tuesday.Â
