FAYETTEVILLE, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team took care of business in straight sets (25-16, 25-18, 25-21) to take down the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls Thursday at home at Felton J Capel Arena.
The victory improved the Broncos' record to 16-12 overall and 13-3 in CIAA action.
The Broncos were led by a double-double from Casandra Watson, who registered 12 kills and 11 digs on the day. Chiara Vittoni also added 14 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Aliyah Brown chipped in with 17 digs to go with one block from Watson.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Broncos took control on the first point and held the lead the rest of the way to secure the first set 25-16. Fayetteville State opened up its biggest lead, nine points, to finish off the set, totaling 16 kills in the set.
SET 2 | Fayetteville State took the second set 25-18 to quickly take a 2-0 lead. The Broncos scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Fayetteville State opened up as much as an eight point lead at 13-5 before closing out the set.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State closed the match in a 3-0 sweep after winning set three. The Broncos persevered in a back-and-forth set to win 25-21 in a stanza that featured seven lead changes and was tied 14 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way. The Fayetteville State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
Fayetteville State will host St. Augustine's Falcons here at Felton J. Capel Arena at 6:00pm. This game is also Senior Appreciation Day where we will recognize the seniors from the team.
