Salem, VA – Nine Fayetteville State student-athletes were recognized at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Football Championship Awards Luncheon in Salem, Virginia.
 
Offensive lineman Michael Todd (Lumberton, NC), defensive lineman Anthony Binyard (Winston-Salem, NC) punter Josiah Boyd (Fayetteville, NC), and defensive back Kolby Merritt (Charlotte, NC) were all named to the All-CIAA First Team.
 
On the All-CIAA Second Team, offensive lineman Tyler Fleming (Winston-Salem, NC) and kick returner Barry Elliott (Fayetteville, NC) were named.
 
The CIAA All-Rookie Team featured running backs Julian Milligan (Columbia, SC) and Bryce Council (Knightdale, NC) along with All-CIAA Josiah Boyd.
 
Head Football Coach Richard Hayes accepted the CIAA Southern Division trophy.
 
Fayetteville State will take on Virginia Union for the 2023 Championship in Salem Stadium.
