RALEIGH, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team could not out-play an opposing Falcons offense Thursday on the road falling to Saint Augustine's in three sets (20-25, 18-25, 18-25).
The loss dropped Fayetteville State's record to 14-12 overall and 11-3 in CIAA action. The Falcons are now 9-10 overall and 9-4 in the CIAA.
Chiara Vittoni finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Broncos offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .353. Defensively, the Broncos had two players reach double figures in digs as Aliyah Brown had 15 and Casandra Watson had 12.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Broncos found themselves in an early hole, dropping the first set 25-20. Saint Augustine's grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17 in a set that was tied up eight times before the Falcons took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Fayetteville State then dropped the second set 25-18 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Broncos fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Broncos lost a tough set 25-18. Fayetteville State trailed by as many as seven points as Saint Augustine's grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that was tied up six times before the Falcons took over the lead.
The Broncos will be back at home on Monday, October 30th, to play Claflin at 6 p.m.
