RALEIGH, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team lost to the Shaw Bears in three sets (19-25, 21-25, 14-25) Wednesday on the road at C C Spalding Gymnasium.
The loss dropped Fayetteville State's record to 12-11 overall and 9-2 in CIAA play.
Chiara Vittoni finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Broncos offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .5. The Broncos got 7 digs from Jordan Johnson along with seven blocks from A'Lexus Everett and seven rejections from Anjola Thomas to lead them defensively.

SET 2 | A 25-21 second-set loss put Fayetteville State in a 2-0 hole in the match. The Broncos trailed by as many as six points as Shaw grabbed the advantage for good at 22-21 in a set that was tied up five times before the Bears took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State was not able to win the third set and was swept by Shaw. The Broncos lost a tough set 25-14. Fayetteville State trailed by as many as 11 points as Shaw grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up just once before the Bears took over the lead.
