ELIZABETH CITY, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team needed just three sets (25-11, 27-25, 25-21) to take down the Virginia Union Panthers Sunday at R L Vaughan Center.
The conference win improved Fayetteville State's record to 12-10 overall and 9-1 in CIAA action.
A'Lexus Everett finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Broncos offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .412. Defensively, the Broncos had two players reach double figures in digs as Jordan Johnson had 15 and Aliyah Brown had 10.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Broncos grabbed control on the first point and held the lead the rest of the way to win the first set 25-11. Fayetteville State opened up its biggest lead, 14 points, to close out the set.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Fayetteville State put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 27-25 victory in set number two. The Broncos rallied after being down as many as seven points at 23-16 to win the set. Fayetteville State jumped in front at 26-25 and hung on for the victory, totaling 15 kills in the process.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State took set three to finish the match in a 3-0 sweep. The Broncos trailed by as many as eight points at 13-5 before fighting back to win 25-21. Fayetteville State grabbed the lead at 20-19 and hung on to take the set.
The Broncos will travel to Raleigh, NC on Wednesday, October 18, for the re-match against Shaw. The game will begin at 6 p.m.
