ELIZABETH CITY, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team knocked off the Bowie State Bulldogs 3-1 (25-22, 25-8, 22-25, 25-20) Saturday at R L Vaughan Center.
The victory moved the Broncos' record to 11-10 overall and 8-1 in CIAA play.
The Broncos offense was paced by Casandra Watson, who finished with 16 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .323. Chiara Vittoni added 12 and Allinson Torres chipped in with 10 as part of a balanced Fayetteville State attack. Defensively, the Broncos had two players reach double figures in digs as Jordan Johnson had 12 and Ta'Leigha Tabor had 10.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Broncos grabbed the first set 25-22 propelled by a strong performance on the attacking end. Fayetteville State put together a .478 attack percentage with 14 kills in the set victory. The Broncos opened up a 23-17 lead in the stanza and coasted to victory from there.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Fayetteville State put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-8 victory in set number two. The Broncos took control of the set lead early on at 3-2 and never looked back. Fayetteville State opened its biggest lead of the stanza, 17 points, to close out the set.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State saw its bid for a 3-0 sweep end when Bowie State took the third set. The Broncos fell in a back-and-forth battle, losing 25-22 in a set that featured four lead changes and was tied seven times. Neither team had a lead of more than three points along the way.
SET 4 | Fayetteville State then responded to close out the match with a 25-20 set-four victory. The Broncos took the lead for good at 11-10 in a set that showcased three lead changes before the Broncos took over the lead. Fayetteville State also supplemented their offense with four aces in the set.
The Broncos will play their final game of the CIAA Roundup tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Virginia Union.
