FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina --Fayetteville State put together a five-play, 71-yard drive, culminating in a 41-yard rushing touchdown with 4:09 left in the ballgame to give the Broncos a 19-14 win over Livingstone on Saturday afternoon at Luther "Nick" Jeralds.
The Broncos improved to 5-2 on the year and 5-0 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play, while the Blue Bears fell to 2-5 and 2-4.
Bryce Council paced the Broncos rushing attack by accumulating 73 yards over the course of the game, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. Demari Daniels also added 60 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 6.7 yards per carry. Caden Davis chipped in with 57 yards as well, averaging 11.4 yards per carry.
Treveran Goode reeled in four catches for 74 yards and one score.
Dylan Morris led the Fayetteville State defensive effort, recording three tackles and one interception. Elijah Casey and Tyren Belcher led the Broncos in tackles. They both had 6 solo tackles, while Casey also had 2 assisted sackles.
Fayetteville State's defense held up against Livingstone's offense, giving up 265 total yards.

Fayetteville State responded to an early 14-0 Livingstone lead with a third quarter touchdown to narrow the deficit to 14-9.The Broncos then scored again to narrow Livingstone's lead to 14-12.
Fayetteville State followed with a 41-yard touchdown run at the 4:09 mark in the fourth quarter and grabbed a 19-14 lead in the process. Both teams played the rest of the game without scoring.
