Newport News, Va. – Tracy Idugboe led the Fayetteville State track & field program's performances this past Sunday at the Christopher Newport University's Vince Brown Invitational in Newport News, Virginia on the Vince Brown Track inside the Freeman Center.
Idugboe, a graduate student-athlete from Norfolk, VA, won the triple jump with a hop-skip-jump of 11.28m (37-00.25) and finished second in the long jump with a leap of 5.37 meters (17-07.5). She has already jumped an NCAA provisional mark on January 20
th with a mark of 11.72 (38-5.5). Tracy had a full schedule on Sunday with the anchor leg of the winning 4x400m relay squad. Along with teammates
Teanna Bell,
Jessica McQueen, and
Malaysia Barber, the foursome won the event in 4:04.77.
Queen Burnett finished second in the finals of the 60 meters in 7.79 seconds and the 200 meters (26.20 seconds).
Teanna Bell won the 400 meters in 59.65 seconds while
Jessica McQueen followed in third place with a time of 1:00.62.
Anna Buckley qualified for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 10.41 seconds and finished eighth overall in 10.27.
The 4x400m B-squad finished third in 4:25.73 with
Anaya Holloman,
Holley Johnson,
Zenovia May, and
Anna Buckley passing the baton.
Jovannah Graham finished third in the shot put with a heave of 11.75m (38-06.75).
Fayetteville State will return to action on Friday, February 3
rd at the Camel City Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, NC.
