Broncos earn 3-0 sweep against Livingstone

FAYETTEVILLE, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team cruised to a three-set win (25-18, 25-16, 25-18) against the Livingstone Blue Bears Monday at home at the Felton J Capel Arena.

The victory moved the Broncos' record to 3-7 overall and 2-0 in CIAA action.

A'Lexus Everett finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Broncos attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .353. The Broncos got 11 digs from Jordan Johnson to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Broncos jumped out to an early lead, easily winning the first set 25-18. Fayetteville State grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that had just one lead change before the Broncos took over the lead.

SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Fayetteville State put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-16 victory in set number two. The Broncos scored first and never trailed in the set to secure the victory. Fayetteville State opened up as much as a 10 point lead at 24-14 before finishing off the set, totaling 15 kills in the process. The Broncos hit .387 over the course of the set. The Fayetteville State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.

SET 3 | Fayetteville State took set three to win in straight sets. The Broncos took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in the set to earn a 25-18 victory. Fayetteville State ended on a high note, claiming its biggest lead, seven points, to finish off the set.
