CLARION, PA --The Fayetteville State volleyball team could not overcome a potent Sailfish offense Friday falling to Palm Beach Atlantic in straight sets (25-27, 21-25, 17-25) at Clarion University's Tony Banner Memorial Tournament in Clarion, Pa.
The non-conference loss moved Fayetteville State to 0-1 on the season.
Bailey Robinson finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Broncos offense. Defensively, FSU had two players reach double figures in digs as Casandra Watson had 12 and Aeyane Mattress had 10. From the front row, Xiamana Spikes contributed six blocks and Kyra Webb added five rejections.

SET 2 | A 25-21 second-set loss put Fayetteville State behind 2-0 in the match. The Broncos trailed by as many as 10 points as Palm Beach Atlantic grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up just once before the Sailfish took over the lead.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State could not win set three and was swept by Palm Beach Atlantic. The Broncos fell in a tough set 25-17. Fayetteville State trailed by as many as nine points as Palm Beach Atlantic grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was knotted up two times before the Sailfish took over the lead.
