FAYETTEVILLE, NC --The Fayetteville State men's basketball team went into halftime trailing Elizabeth City State 29-19, but fought back from the deficit to knock off the Vikings 69-64 at home Monday.
The Broncos (7-7, 2-1) had three players score in double figures, led by Tyler Foster, who put together a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Kaleb Coleman added 20 points, eight rebounds and two blocks and Darryl Myers chipped in as well with 12 points and three blocks from the bench.
Fayetteville State grabbed 41 rebounds in Monday's game compared to Elizabeth City State's 40, led by Foster's 12 boards. The Broncos also put in work on the offensive glass, turning 16 rebounds into 10 second chance points.
Fayetteville State did a great job disrupting Elizabeth City State (5-8 overall, 0-3 CIAA) shots in the contest, coming away with five blocks. Myers' three rejections led the way individually for the Broncos.

Fayetteville State narrowed its deficit to 50-41 before going on a 7-0 run to shrink the deficit to 50-48 with 7:41 to go in the contest. The Broncos kept the rally going and took the lead for good on Tre Richardson's three-pointer with 00:02 left for a 69-64 comeback victory. Fayetteville State got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 14 of its 50 total points.
