Three Broncos Honored to All-CIAA Volleyball Team

Salem, Va. – The Fayetteville State University women's volleyball program received the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division Title along with three All-Conference superlatives during the CIAA Championship Awards Luncheon, Friday, November 11 at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va.  Middle Blocker Xiamana Spikes, Outside Hitter Kailyn Williams, and Setter Jaida Bynum were named All-CIAA.
 
Xiamana Spikes, a senior in the classroom and a junior on the court, was named First Team All-CIAA. She leads the team in blocks with 62 and has a total of 171 kills from 385 attacks. The Raeford, North Carolina native has a season-high 18 kills versus Shippensburg, four service aces against Bowie State, and six blocks on Winston-Salem State.
 
Kailyn Williams, a graduate student from Arlington, Texas, was named All-CIAA Second Team. Williams has 98 kills for the season from 237 total attacks. She has 20 digs and 12 blocks. Kailyn had her best match of the season against Claflin. She finished with 19 Kills, five digs, and four total blocks.
 
Jaida Bynum, a junior from Largo, Maryland, leads the Broncos in set- assists with 406. For the season, she has 113 digs, 22 service aces, 18 kills, and 96 total attacks. Bynum collected 38 assists against Johnson C. Smith, a dozen digs versus Virginia State, and three aces on Saint Augustine's.
 
No. 3 Fayetteville State will take on no. 2 Elizabeth City State tonight at 7:30 pm in the CIAA Semifinals.
