FSU Men shoots 52.9 percent from deep, loses to East Stroudsburg (PA) 86-81

BOWIE, MD --The Fayetteville State men's basketball team shot 52.9 percent from deep, but fell to the East Stroudsburg (PA) Warriors 86-81 at A.C. Jordan Arena Friday at Bowie State University Classic.

The Broncos (0-1 overall) had three players score in double figures, led by Kaleb Coleman, who had 16 points and six rebounds. Tyler Foster tacked on 16 points off the bench and Tony Hauser helped out with a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Fayetteville State grabbed 38 rebounds in Friday's game compared to East Stroudsburg (PA)'s 32, led by Hauser's 10 boards. The Broncos also cleaned up the offensive glass, turning 13 rebounds into 19 second chance points.

How It Happened

After falling behind 2-0, Fayetteville State went on a 13-0 run with 19:22 left in the first half to take a 13-2 lead. The Broncos then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 47-45 advantage. Fayetteville State relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down seven shots to account for 21 of its 47 points.

East Stroudsburg (PA) then erased the Fayetteville State lead in the game's final quarter for an 86-81 comeback victory. Fayetteville State got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 13 of its 34 total points.
