RALEIGH, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team could not beat an opposing Bears' offense Saturday at the CIAA Volleyball Roundup to Shaw in straight sets (14-25, 15-25, 11-25) in the Spaulding Gymnasium.
The loss dropped Fayetteville State's record to 6-9 overall and 5-2 in CIAA play. Shaw now stands at 11-6 and a perfect 7-0 in the conference.
Xiamana Spikes finished with six kills on the day to lead the Broncos attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .500. The Broncos got six digs from Jordan Johnson to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Broncos lost the first set 25-14 despite a strong performance on the attacking side. Fayetteville State put together a .444 attack percentage with eight kills in the set loss.
SET 2 | Fayetteville State then lost the second set 25-15 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Broncos fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Shaw finished off the sweep with a set-three win. The Broncos dropped the set 25-11 despite a solid performance on the attacking end. Fayetteville State registered a .304 attack percentage with 10 kills in the set loss.
