RALEIGH, NC --The Fayetteville State volleyball team knocked off the Bowie State Bulldogs 3-2 (25-21, 21-25, 25-15, 21-25, 15-11) Sunday at Emery Gymnasium in Raleigh, NC.
The win boosted the Broncos' record to 7-9 overall and 6-2 in CIAA action and Bowie State falls to 6-7 and 3-5 CIAAÂ play.
A'Lexus Everett finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Broncos offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .25. Jordan Johnson also pitched in with five in the contest. got 13 digs from Alexia Bryant to lead them defensively.

SET 2 | Fayetteville State fell in the second set 25-21 to tie the match 1-1. The Broncos fell in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied 11 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State put the second-set loss behind and took a 2-1 match lead with a victory in set three. Impressive serving helped the Broncos win the set 25-15. Fayetteville State totaled seven aces in the win. The Broncos ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza. The Fayetteville State offense also got a boost from seven aces in the stanza. Fayetteville State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Bowie State attacks in the stanza.
SET 4 | Fayetteville State couldn't finish off a four-set win as the Bulldogs forced a fifth set with a 25-21 victory. The Broncos trailed by as many as seven points as Bowie State grabbed the advantage for good at 4-3 and Fayetteville State was never able to recover in a set that was tied up four times before the Bulldogs took over the lead.
SET 5 | Fayetteville State and Bowie State went back and forth all game, trading set wins until the Broncos took set five 15-11 and the match. The Broncos took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in the fifth set to secure the victory. Fayetteville State opened up as much as a five point lead at 8-3 before closing out the set.
