Winston-Salem, NC (November 8, 2021) – Fayetteville State University completed its Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) volleyball schedule with a 3-0 sweep over Winston-Salem State University in the Rams' Whitaker Gymnasium. The Broncos won by sets of 25-17, 25-18, and 25-20 as FSU improves to 10-0 in the division, 14-2 in the conference, and 19-6 overall. WSSU drops to 5-5, 8-8, and 9-16 overall.
Kalee Vanderhorst and
Da'Nesha Miller led all with 13 kills and 10 kills, respectively.
The Broncos now hold a six-match win-streak over WSSU, which dates to November 2018. In the six-match streak, FSU has swept WSSU five out of the six wins.
Miller finished with a double-double of 10 kills and 12 assists.
Jaida Bynum led all with 18 assists as the Broncos finished with a total of 36 kills.
Winston-Salem State put forth a defensive effort that resulted in 13 blocks. Niyonna McIntyre led all with six blocks along with seven kills. Raven Gray led the Rams with nine kills and two blocks.
Fayetteville State will close out the regular season in Capel Arena on Wednesday, November 10
th with a 6 pm non-conference match against Chowan for Senior Night.
