Fayetteville, NC – Fayetteville State University rebounded from a weekend loss to Augusta with a 58-53 victory over Lander University on Thanksgiving eve.
The Broncos were led by two players achieving season-high 16 points,
Darryl Myers and
Cress Worthy. Myers also finished with a season-first double-double of 11 rebounds.
Zane Rankin headed Lander with 19 points, 15 of which were behind the 3-point arc.
FSU won the battle of the boards with 41 to Lander's 34. The Broncos scored 11 second-chance points with 16 offensive rebounds and limited the Bearcats to 9 offensive rebounds and only 7 put-back points.
Fayetteville State will travel to Richmond, Virginia for a contest against Virginia Union on Saturday, November 27 at 4 pm.
