Fayetteville, NC – Fayetteville State women's basketball suffered an 80-50 loss to 4-0 Barton College in Capel Arena following a slow 21-8 first quarter. The Broncos, 2-2 overall, were led by its leading-scored Aniylah Bryant who dropped 19 points. London Thompson led the team with 12 rebounds.
 
The Barton Bulldogs, who led by twenty at the half (44-24), were led by Jami Tham with a double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds. Shanika Peterkin scored 19 points and Akira Wiggins 13.
 
Fayetteville State has had a tough time historically with the Bulldogs have lost the past seven meetings since 2009.
 
FSU will move forward to take on the Vikings of Elizabeth City State University on Saturday, November 27 in Rocky Mount, NC. The non-conference matchup will be the feature game in the 252 Down East Women's Invitational. The other games will be between Farmville Central, Northeastern, Northern Nash, Rocky Mount, Southwest Edgecombe, and St. Paul's High Schools.
