Jalen Seegars scored a team-high 19 points in Fayetteville State's 78-64 route of Shaw on Wednesday night (Feb. 19) in Raleigh, NC. The Broncos 20-7 overall record is a first for the program since the 20-9 record in 1992-93 under Jeff Capel.
Fayetteville State continues to hold the CIAA South's third seed with a conference record of 9-7 and divisional record of 7-4 with one game left in the regular season.
Will Brown and
Raymon Pratt finished with double-doubles. Brown scored ten points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Pratt had a dozen points and 14 boards.
Isaiah Vinson scored 13 points.
Jalen Spicer had a game-high seven assists.
The Broncos held a halftime lead of 42-26 after an 18-point advantage (31-18) with 6:45 left in the half. In the second half, FSU maintained a 17-point lead with 3:52 left and a rotation of bench players in the game.
Fayetteville State held a rebound advantage of 53-36 with a team total of 14 assists, 9 blocks, and five steals.
The Broncos will honor its seniors on Saturday (Feb. 22) in its final regular-season game against Saint Augustine's at 4 pm in Capel Arena.
