Winston-Salem, N.C. – Fayetteville State Volleyball is back on track after sweeping the Rams of Winston-Salem State University 3-0.
Casandra Watson (Grifton, NC) led the match with eleven (11) kills on 30 attacks in the Broncos 25-18, 25-20, and 25-22 win. FSU is now 1-0 in conference play and 1-4 overall. The Rams drop to 2-5 with one CIAA loss.
The first set was a tough battle for the Broncos but won 25-18 with 15 kills.
The second set had WSSU out first with six score ties until the Broncos took the lead at 12-11 and proceeded to win the set 25-20.
The third set was the match of the day. The Rams started out with the lead again, but the set went a total of twelve score ties. The score was tied 22-22 when the efforts from
Chynna Hunt (Summerville, SC) and
Casandra Watson led the Broncos to victory at 25-22.
Nakia Mckinnie (Niceville, FL) finished the match with 20 assists and
Jasmine Jacinto (San Antonio, TX) finished with 11 digs.
