Salisbury, NC – Fayetteville State football place a sense of gloom over Livingstone as the Blue Bears homecoming activities ended in a Bronco 32-0 victory celebration.
Fayetteville State (7-2 overall; 5-1 CIAA) threw for 270 yards with four scoring touchdowns. The Broncos finished with a total of 332 yards after a 62-yard run-game. Livingstone (4-5; 1-5) finished with 186 yards of total offense with 77 yards passing and 109 rushing.
FSU scored on its opening drive spanning 35 yards in nine plays after Shawn Andrew (Salemburg, NC) kicked a 45-yard field goal with 8:05 on the clock.
On the pursuing drive,
Tyeous Sharpe was on the receiving end of a 24-yard touchdown pass from Latimer for a 9-0 lead with 4:57 left in the first quarter. Sharpe finished with five receptions for 79 yards.
Andrew added three more points with his second field goal of the game on a 31-yard boot to start the second quarter with 12:43 remaining.
The Broncos went into halftime with a 19-0 lead after Latimer threw his second touchdown with a nine-yard pass to
Toshiro Spivey (Fayetteville, NC). Spivey finished with four catches for 81 yards.
In the third quarter, Latimer tossed a 17-yard pass to fullback
James Transou (Walkertown, NC) for a 26-0 lead and 8:06 remaining in the period.
The Broncos had a little fun on the field when
Tyeous Sharpe threw his second reverse pass for a touchdown. This time it was for 29 yards to
Kerrson Aikens (Atlanta, GA).
Fayetteville State will face Winston-Salem State in a televised game inside Bowman Gray Stadium next Saturday (Nov. 9) with a 2:00 pm kickoff.
