Pembroke, NC – The Fayetteville State volleyball team was defeated 25-14, 25-23, and 25-18 by UNC Pembroke on the second day of the UNCP Invitational. The 3-0 loss drops the Broncos to 0-4 overall while the Braves jump to 2-5.
Bojo Jada (Jamestown, NC) netted a season high 11 kills and 30 total attacks in the effort. She also finished with two blocks and an assist.
Nakia Mckinnie (Niceville, FL) contributed 14 assists while
Meagan Greene (Orangeburg, SC) pulled out 15 saves (digs).
The Broncos had a rough start in the first set with a -.067 hitting percentage after committing 9 errors against 7 kills on 30 attacks.
UNCP won the second set 25-23. The even split of 11 kills and 11 errors contributed to FSU's short fall by two points. The Braves had a set-high 18 kills in the third set for the 25-18 win.
Fayetteville State will close out the volleyball tournament with a match against Lenoir-Rhyne.
