Fayetteville, NC – Fayetteville State dropped a 3-1 non-conference match tonight to the University of Mount Olive in Capel Arena. The Broncos jumped out to an exciting 25-17 first set but trailed in the final three 25-11, 25-17, and 25-19. FSU's overall record drops to 2-9 overall while the Trojans improve to 3-11.
 
Bojo Jada (senior - Jamestown, NC) led the effort with 11 kills on 25 attacks while Teeya McLean (senior – Tacoma, WA) followed with nine kills, 21 attacks, and 4 blocks. Meagan Greene (freshman – Orangeburg, SC) finished with 17 digs and Ziyanna Canty (sophomore - Charlotte, NC) setup 16 assists.
 
Mount Olive had a better hitting percentage (.215) for the match with 50 kills made from 121 attacks with only 24 errors. FSU (.109 hitting percentage) had 37 kills from 110 attacks but suffered with the 25 errors. In the opening set, Fayetteville State won its only advantage with 14 kills with only 4 errors made.
 
The Broncos won the battle at the net with nine blocks to UMO's four and had a few more digs (41-39) than the Trojans.
 
Ana Keene and Makayla Huber led the match for UMO with 14 kills each.
 
Fayetteville State will return to conference play on Thursday, October 4^th with it's Breast Cancer Awareness Game "Dig Pink" against Johnson C. Smith. First serve will be at 6:00 pm in Capel Arena.
