FSU'S PODLOGAR WINS COSIDA AWARD FOR BRONCO BLOG

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Fayetteville State Assistant Sports Information Director Alex Podlogar was honored with a College Sports Information Directors of America writing award for the second consecutive year.

Podlogar, who won two national awards and two district awards a year ago, was named the CoSIDA District 3 winner in the Blog/Interview category in the 2011 Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest. The administrator for Fayetteville State's blog at www.fsubroncoblog.com, Podlogar was honored for his coverage of the Broncos on college football's national signing day in 2011.

The contest is open to all members of CoSIDA across the nation. District 3 encompasses colleges and universities across all levels in North and South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Virginia. Other 2011 district winners in the Blog/Interview category include Stanford, Baylor, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and Amherst. Princeton won the national award.

Podlogar is a 12-time winner of awards presented by the North Carolina Press Association for his work with The Daily Courier of Forest City and The Sanford Herald. It is Podlogar's fifth CoSIDA award in just two years.
